I would never consider myself a sports mom or football enthusiast. Funny considering I have three boys who are avidly into sports. Put me in behind the scenes as team mom, end of party celebration coordinator and snack mom. I can do a roster like no other and snacks like a pinterest mommy wannabe, coordinate a party, please this is my dream job. If there was a fan club for that sign me up. I would be on that sports team!!
Today was a great game for my middle son. They tied 14/14. I was clapping and cheering. Albiet it was not an appropriate clap as the ball was intercepted but they did get a flag. The highlight of my son’s game was when I yelled on the sidelines for my son to focus and right as I said that he intercepted the ball and the clouds parted and the crowd went wild. Ok maybe not the latter but the crowd did cheer, not bad for kid who never played football before. It was a great moment because after the football game he told me how awesome that was. I am not sure if that was a compliment or my son being sarcastic. Either way I will take it.
I never thought I would be a football mom. I swore up and down my kids would never play. Then I moved to the football capital of the world; Texas. In Texas the day you are born, for boys you come out wearing shoulder pads ready to get in the game or so it seems. Its like Friday Night lights. Y’all can’t hate!
It is very much appropriate if I get a Football Mom decal shirt to wear now. Only to show my support for my boys. This is totally going in line with what I wanted to be when I grew up; A cheerleader, especially on the sidelines. Except I am not that cute, I wont be in a cheerleader outfit or have pom pom’s. More like Mom jeans, Spanx and a big top to cover the “muffin top”
