Recently we visited Escape Hunt Dallas. Imagine you are in a room and you are trying to figure out who stole The famous Texas Lone Star. Stolen from a museum near Dealay Plaza. Being new to Texas you, pull up your cowboy boots and you accept the challenge. You have 60 minutes before the museum opens to save the day. With a few clues and the clock is ticking. It’s more tense than trying to find Carmen San Diego. Ok for the millennial you will have no idea what I am talking about. What I liked about this family outing. This allows for 60-90 minutes of no screen time and face-to-face interaction.

There is no I in TEAM but there is in WIN. Ok seriously it’s a group effort. I loved how we were all working together to reach one common goal. I like the fact that our faces were not buried in our cellphones / devices and we had to be in a room trapped together and had to talk and solve problems. What real life should be as a family, friends etc. Something we are slowly losing in this time.

I have a 17, 12 and 6 year old. Having their undivided attention along with that of my husband. It was like time stood still. It was so precious and you can’t put a price on that. I defiantly will be back and I can’t wait to go as a family again.

When you arrive you will be given a run down of the rules. You will place all your belongings (cell phones and electronic devices) in a locker. Don’t worry you get the key AND you get it back shortly. While in the room you are given a certain amount of clues that come up on the screen. You have someone who is watching you at all times. So if you raise your hands up and want a clue they got you covered. I will be

My husband graduated Summa cum laude from University. My older two are innovative thinkers; my youngest thinks of the obvious and I motivated others and looked for the tiny clues that were over looked. For the record my husband had to admit I was right. It’s about patience, being innovative, having fun and thinking outside the box. With that said we as a team rocked but it was challenging and it wasn’t easy. Again with my crew and we are pretty darn smart we finished just in time.  25% get the challenge done within that time. Y’all we rocked it. We found The Lone Star! Yee Haw
