Miyabi Japanese Bistro & Bar

Miyabi is a Japanese Bistro & Bar located in Frisco, Texas. I was honored to presented with the  Omakase plate. Adorned with ahi, live scallops, sea urchin, blue fin tuna, Japanese sea bream, king salmon, Alaskan king crab, and cajun spice salmon. All the seafood is flown fresh on dry ice from Tokyo. Chef Danny , the owner and operator. Chef Danny worked as the head chef at many fabulous restaurants in New York City. He is no stranger to the finer things in life when it comes to good taste. Both with food and decor of the restaurant.

My husband who is very selective when giving out a compliment especially for sushi. Personally had to shake Chef Danny’s hand. Stating this is the best sushi he has had in a very long time. I agree. We have been in Texas for 7 months and have yet to find a sushi place we would venture to eat at twice. That was until we found Miyabi.

When we arrived my son was thrilled to have the Japanese soda. He indulged in two, have to admit I helped with one. It was so good and very different. It was refreshing and delicious.

My husband aka photo bomber!

There is no kids menu so we played it safe on the menu and had the Chicken, rice, soup and rice. WOW it was such a big portion my son could hardly eat it all and either could his mother. It was wrapped to go. It was incredibly delicious and such a huge serving for such a little price.

This is the beautiful Omakase. You might be wondering what Omakase means. This is a Japanese phrase that means, “I’ll leave it up to you.” Usually the expression is given at sushi restaurants to leave the selection to the chef, verses ordering  a’ la carte. I am going to tell you this photo doesn’t even begin to captivate the real beauty and elegance of this dish. SO click HERE to see another view of this magnificent dish. Served on a bed of dry ice and sprinkled with gold dust. Lighted and surrounded by orchids. It was almost too spectacular to eat. All the seafood was extremely fresh. I enjoyed the live scallop. It tasted like it had a buttery taste and it was so good. The Japanese sea bream and blue fin tuna are another favorite. It was absolutely impossible to say one thing was my favorite over another. Everything was five star.
